Had an incident some years ago. There was a VW beetle parked outside the motel where I had a room. the lights had been on for some time, and obviously the owner had forgotten about them. The driver's side window was open so I stuck my head in and was fumbling for the light switch when I heard a very bass 'Woof' right in my ear. I almost scraped my ears off getting my head out of the car. The dog was very annoyed and barked for a while. The lights stayed on until the battery ran down.
