Congratulations, You have some great guns there and you have to love a 44 magnum. The Nickel Model 27 with 5 inch barrel is one of my all time favorite revolvers.

My latest a Nickel Mdoel 27-2 5 inch

Thanks , im hapy especially with the 29-2,the other two look a little tired but im happy with them, i am going to replace the Pachmyres on the 29-3 with some target stcoks soon. This brings my total to 12 S&W revolvers and still looking.

Thanks guys...to answer saxonpig and 1blindref.Here in Australia we access to handguns for target shooting and collecting only...no CCW or handgun hunting. You have to be a member of a pistol club and have to do minimum shoots per year to keep youre licence, any guns registered as collectors are not allowed to be shot and have to temporarily inoperable via a trigger lock and you have to be a member of a collectors club, all guns are registered with our state firearms registry and we have minimum storage requirements regarding safe type etc.Its not too easy but it is if youre a die hard like me and know the rules and regs...i have owned handguns for 18+ years so its the paperwork /rules reg are second nature to me.We have access to all the new S&W handguns as there is a registered S&W distrubutor importer here in Sydney and also Colt and Beretta etc, and there is a large availability of common used models
such as model 686,586,66,19,10,41,17,617,14,15,28,27 and to a lesser degree 29s and 629s plus alot of other models, there out there you just have to know where to look with certain dealers etc.I recently bought a Colt Anaconda 6" as new in box with papers....so we still have some nice stuff getting around...not any where near as much as you guys of course. But we still have them available for us good boys.

Thanks Aussie

It's ashame you have to go through all that just to own a gun.
I think sometimes we Americans take gun ownership and how good we have it for granted.

Thanks Aussie

It was easier pre 1996 for rifles and shotguns...in alot of states we where able to own assult rilfes etc AR15s,Ar10s,H&K 91 93 ,semi auot Thompsons,M1A 308,etc etc with hi cap mags...not anymore...the average shooter/hunter cant even have a pump or semi auto shotgun.I miss my Rem 870 & Mini 14.

What happend in 1996?
Did you have to turn in your 870 and Ruger? If so, did the government give you any $$ for them?

I believe the tragic mass shooting in Tasmania occurred in 1996 with the usual myopic government response being the banning of many repeating rifles and shotguns in Australia.

If you ever visit the U.S. and get to Arkansas drop by and you're welcome to shoot whatever is in the safe.

It's already happening. Hillary is doing the TV rounds blaming the crime/murders on the Texas, Mexico borders on American made assualt weapons.

This is definately a time when everyone who owns ANY firearm to fork out $25.00 and join the NRA.

"United we Stand, Divided we Fall" definately applies here folks.

Hop on your computers and write your Congressman and Senators NOW before we end up like Australia.

We had a mass shooting in Tasmania where one gunman shot 52 people and killed 35..that when the government introduced tough gun laws and we had a nationwide gun buyback in 1997.All long arms had to registered and every time you wanted to buy a gun you have to apply for a "Permit to acquire " and pay $30.00 for every permit..each permit represents one gun and it takes 4 to 5 weeeks to get the permit , and then you can go to the dealer and pick it up.You guys sure do have it good ...im am very envious let me tell you. I often joke with my wife about moving to Texas and it being the only place i could get away with wearing a cowboy hat and boots and a handgun at the same time ....lol.

Saxon thanks very much mate....im definatley going to come over there one day...has been a dream of mine for a very very long time to visit America...if there was ever only one place i could visit ....the good ole United States would be it for sure.
My wife realy wants to see New York ...but i want to go hunting and visit the gun shops and ranges and maybe the Knob Creek machine gun shoot.

Cheers Darren.

Aussie -
I live right outside of Philadelphia - only about 2 hours south of New York. If you do decide to take a trip to the states, you'd be more than welcome to dirty up anything in my safe.
Keep me in mind
