I love the pistol and have decided to add a few things to it. I want to pick up a laser but don't want to add too much bulk. I've seen a good rating on this one and wanted to see what everyone thinks? Also, I have considered this one as well.

I'm also thinking about picking up a barrel for the .357 sig round, but am unsure where to look for this? I checked the S&W website but didn't see any barrels for the M&P for sale.

Another question I have is what is a good inside the waist band holster? I'm open to any type of material as long as it will be comfortable.

And finally, I heard I could call S&W to get another finger extender for my one magazine that didn't have it, is this true?

Thanks for the help everyone.

couldnt really give advice on lasers, other than crimson trace.. I dont much see the point in a laser on a self defense gun if i have to turn on the laser first.

I dont think S&W are going to be making the M&P 357 anymore. Best bet is going to be after market like storm lake convertion and drop in barrels.

I dont know if you can get a free bottom plate but they are silly cheap like from Midway USA. I think they have some barrels too.
If you are going to carry inside the waist, I would not toss that flat bottom plate so fast.. It's the only way I dont print with my 40c..

Yes on base plate
Don't know anything about 357, 40 meets my breeds
Highly recommend the MTAC from Comptac. My 40c in my MTAC is very comfortable. Belt clips adjust for height and can't. Kydex bodies can be changed for different pistols.

I have Crimson Trace Laser Grips for my M&P9 full size and they are instinctive when you grip the pistol your hands automatically turn on the laser, there is a switch to turn it off which is the way I shoot it most of the time, I still need to tweak the laser a little but mostly it is close enough to do the job of quickly acquiring a target.

I also have the M&P40c but have yet to even think about the laser, with the lasers you linked to you might be limited to holster selection, even with the laser on my 9FS the 40 caliber fits the same Black Hawk Serpa holster not sure about a rail mounted laser though!

Thanks for the input. I'm unsure about the rail mounted laser myself and was thinking about just making the investment for night sights. I looked at both holster recommended in the first two responses and I think I'll go with the MTAC from Comptac. I think I might also be interested in ankle holsters, does anyone use these?

For my 40C IWB holster I went with Nate at UBCholsters.com. I were it during all my waking hours, and it's so comfy I can hardly feel it's there.

I just ordered a white hat IWB for my 40c. I'm looking forward to trying it out! Primary reason why I went with White Hat vs. a Crossbreed is the option to replace the Kydex. Price is a little cheaper but not enough to make the decision alone. Being able to use the same holster for multiple hand guns... now that's a winner!

Of course it all depends on how it feels I guess.
