Those with Amazon Prime will find the 1956 film "A Hill In Korea" available for instant viewing on Amazon video. Those without can probably buy or rent it for a small sum. The film features Stanley Baker, best known to Americans for Zulu and a small part for Michael Caine, who actually did fight in Korea.

Made in England shortly after the armistice, this film details a small British patrol behind Chinese lines. There are comparatively few films about the Korean war, and this well acted and shot little film is the first that I have seen detailing British troops there.

There is much excellent footage of Bren guns in action, a Sten Mk 5, and Enfield No4mk2 rifles to be seen. At one point the Sten even has the bayonet mounted. Portuguese Air Force F80s are also seen simulating a bombing run.

Well worth 90 minutes or so of your life, the film is quite involving.

Because of his war time experience, Caine (now Sir Caine) did double duty and was also technical adviser on the film.

Sounds worth looking up...

I was going through boxes to put my house back together after the fire and saw a DVD set that I wasn't sure what it was. Looked at it and....."Steel Helmet"

"IF YOU DIE I'M GONNA KILL YA!"

I like all the 'hill' movies but they are usually bad news and depressing.

Our reflex action to always, "Take the hill!" got us in a lot of hot water against clever enemies.

I've seen it and its a fine film. The working actual title is: Hell in Korea.

I hated The Steel Helmet on first viewing, but recently watched it, and it was a masterpiece. Sam Fuller knew his stuff. Gene Evans as Sgt. Rock.

Another Stanley Baker must see is Yesterday's Enemy, depicting the viciousness of jungle warfare in Burma against the Japanese.

In checking IMDB I see the Korean film was 1951 and the Burma/WWII film was 1956.
