Here's an unusual S.D. Myres holster-a Border Patrol type made for a Government Model .45 auto. It features a sewn block similar to a Model 1916 US service holster to prevent the magazine release being depressed. My .45 is a snug fit.

Regards,

Really super photos, turnerriver. This holster surely is from La Croix's ownership, using the old 1930s patented stamp of the company's Border Patrol design. It's a melding of that style with the Donihoo that appeared in the 1960s. An article about Myres during La Croix's ownership appeared in 1978 with just this sort of thing and I have many images of Myres 'no tex' holsters with the mag button relief pad (it also serves to turn the pistol outwards via the trigger guard, which is what Bill Jordan sought with his revolver Jordan holster).

1957 newspaper article - Texas Department of Public Safety, cocked & locked in a similar if not identical holster. I can't tell about the detail around the trigger guard.

.45 or .38 Super? It might be either one.
