I just picked up a like new 2 tone usp and find it a bit big. It is fullsize and now has 200 rounds through it . It has 2 mags and a cheap fobus holster. My question is i have the chance to trade it straigh up for a slightley more used h&k p2000 with a iwb holster and 6 mags original box . Where mine has no box 2 mags. And is huge should i trade or hold off for a usp compact.

Ps the p2000 has the Lem trigger ne one used one? What u think? Thanks Jay

Thats a pretty good trade, for you. IIRC the P2000 with six mags is worth a bit more than a USP.

I've has three USP compacts. Two 45's and a 40. The triggers were all DA/SA. Not very good triggers. Not as nice as the triggers on my full size USP's. After an HK armorer told me that he couldn't make them any better I sold them all.

The LEM trigger is better, smoother - lighter, than the HK DA/SA, for me. Good luck with your decision! Regards 18DAI

I have a P2000sk with the LEM trigger, the trigger pull is a longer DA trigger but it has a very short reset on it. It does take a little getting used to the trigger but I like it and it does have double strike capability. I haven't had any problems with my P2000sk after around 2,000 rounds or so. IMO if the P2000 fits your hand better I would make the trade but that's just me. Are you planning on using this handgun for concealed carry? If so I would definitely go with the P2000 over the USP, JMO.

As far as carry it would be sometimes. As i carry my cz 75 compact or my m&p9c so it would be carried but not often.my usp is set up not as variant 1 and i have the variant 3 plate . I guess my concern is going from the 2 tone with no wear to the black with a lil wear .... Iv read that the usp is good for 100000 rounds where the p2000 is good for 10000.... But i guess if i shoot 10000 rounds through it i can afford to buy another..... Also the usp was imported in 95 where the p2000 was in 2006.....

I'm not sure how many rounds either of the handguns are good for or the value of an older USP 2-tone. I know my P2000sk was around $900 and the price has gone up since I've bought mine a couple years ago.

Well i hope its close cause i trAded. Now to shoot it and make the trigger to the light lem

I love my P2000...I used to carry the 92F on duty but I like the smaller grip and lighter weight of the the P2000 with only giving up 2 rounds....it doubles nicely IWB as a CCW gun also. mine has the standard weight LEM trigger and I like it since I also carry revolvers....no DA/SA transition...it feels like a nicely tuned wheel gun.

Here it is on a Lobo pancake...

And a Lobo offset clip...

One change I made to mine was to add a fiber optic front sight...and with the TRL3 it makes a dandy house gun...

How about a P7M8....Nor much better in my opinion, if you want more rounds try the HK P7M14........I know they are hard to find and cost can be higher than most used pistols....I do think H&K makes good products.......So I'm partial.

I carried the M8 for 9 years...great CCW gun...but they are a bit hard to carry without the right leather due to their short slide and heavy butt (I carried mine in a Del Fatti ISP)...and the M13 even more so with it's huge grip....still, a great carry gun once you get used to them.

I guess it is a good trade. However, some people go bananas over two tone USP's and you might be able to sell it for a decent price, but you'd have to find one of those folks.

Personally, I'd get a USPc since I can't stand DAO/LEMand similar variations.

Good luck

In this case the good or bad of the trade was more of your personal comfort level. The guns come from the same company that makes quality guns.

I love my USP9 with the light LEM trigger. (btw there are several different LEM triggers. Some are heavier then others). If i could find a p2000 for a good price in 9 i'd be all over it. Unfortunately i only run into the 40.

My only beef with HK is their proprietary mags. Why must each model have its own different mag? And the price of parts.

Finnaly took it out shooting. Great gun! Trigger it fine. Still take some more time to get use to but i like it.

I would agree that it's a good trade. I have a P2000SK with LEM trigger. It is my off duty carry weapon. I like it quite a bit. The USPc is also a great weapon. I have two, one for duty, one for competition. Both USPc's have the LEM trigger too. All three have had a bunch (8000+ combined) of rounds through them, and I have never had a misfire or MF with either factory of handloads. You can't ask for better than that IMO.
