I was down in Lufkin for a shopping foray and had to stop in the friendly hole in the wall gun shop. There, hiding deep in the revolver cabinet, was a pretty nice M27-2 nickel plated with 8 3/8" barrel. I've only been wanting a M27 for about the last 40 years, so today was my chance and I didn't pass it up!

I also couldn't pass the opportunity to try the red dot, so I used some 358429s I had loaded with 7.0 gr of SR 4756 in .38 Special brass out in the front yard. It may take a little getting used to the sight, but it seemed to handle good. Maybe as good as my 4-5 year older M28-2. ;)

COOL! Pretty soon, I may NEED to put those kind of sights on all of my firearms! hahaha

Can't wait to hear the reports! Those 125gr blasters you make for the rifle. I wanna hear how they do from that thing!

Really nice revolver. (although it screams for wood grips!) I'm also curious as to how that ammo shoots in a long barrel revolver.

I'll have to crank up the chrony and see what they are doing at 1.0 gr less than The Load. I would anticipate somewhere in the neighborhood of 1050 fps, 'cause they sure were loud!

I was busy today buying materials for the new loading room and installing the new A/C. I think I'm going to use the back side of the Luan plywood I bought instead of the mahogany side and just varnish it. It shouldn't be too dark in there with 4 ceiling fans w/light kits.

I have some wood for it, but I really don't like to shoot with wood. I much prefer Grippers.

Skip, I've been thinking about those 125s and I'll probably try them pretty soon, but it's hard to get enthused about dragging out the chrony when it's over 100 degrees. :( Since I also have a 4" pre-28, I'll probably also try something similar to what was current for it, 15.0 gr of 2400 with a 358429. I have noticed my M28-2 is slower than my 4" M66-2, so I don't know what to expect from this longer barrel.
