So I have an M&P 9FS and M&P 9 Shield. I also have S&W 1911 108282. Thinking about getting another .45. I really like the Sig P320 Compact and the Sig Traditional Compact Stainless.

I am trying to decide if I just want to keep with the 1911 theme in my .45s?!?!?! I EDC my Shield and so far have my mind made up that for CC I want the simplest gun to operate (draw and pull trigger). Hence I don't know if I would carry the Traditional Compact as it would require the safety to be engaged at all times. However the P320, may make into the carry rotation as it fits all my criteria for a CC gun. But I don't know how often I would carry it as I love the my Shield/holster combo. On the other hand, I can shoot my 1911 better than my other guns.

The Sig Traditional Compact is dang sexy to me though.

Thoughts? :D

Although I love my striker fired high capacity pistols, nothing is more accurate for me than my 1911. :)

I'm about to do some trigger work on my Glock but I don't think the trigger will ever come close to the feel of a 1911.

I have a Ruger SR1911 and a MP9C with the APEX FSS and Trigger mod

BOTH have 1/16 free travel
The SR 1911 then breaks ar 4.5 lbs
The MP9C breaks at 3.5

I'm also a big fan of the 1911s, got a bunch of them, and have carried a Colt Defender for several years. That said, for .45 carry these days, I go with the Glock 30S most of the time. Excellent carry gun, and meets your preference for simple fire control (just pull the trigger). The trigger pull will never match a 1911's awesome single action pull, but it is a good trigger, and easily 'learned.'

I also have a German-made Sig 245, and it's a great, high quality gun, but I chose to carry the Glock 30S. For me, easier to conceal compared to the sig, and more rounds on tap. The 245 is DA/SA with a decocker, so no safety involved (just draw and pull trigger).

I've handled the new P320, nice trigger, but with the frame it has, it just seemed top heavy to me? Wouldn't be my first choice, but may give it a try some day.

Good luck with your decision, I'd recommend that you try out the G30S. If you go the 1911 route, I've been real happy with the Colt Defender...

If I had to deceide for another 1911 it would be a Thompson custom 1911 / . in stainless or a Springfield 1911in stainless loaded.

The 1911 as a ccw is a great choice, and I love mine. The 45lc is just a bit to bulky for a ccw I think. I would stick with the gun you shoot the best.

Thank you

You're right...it won't.

If you haven't consider a version of the Sig P220, you might want to.
