I picked up this transfer yesterday. I spotted it in the display case at a shop in Tucson. I did not think about it very long before I said I'll take it. The shop made a mistake and put another customers shipping label on the box and it went to PA instead of CO. I'm an American, I want what I want, I want it now and I want more of it :). No, I wasn't angry, stuff happens and I enjoyed the anticipation effect as this piece traveled back and forth across the country. I haven't shot it yet, but I am very pleased, maybe the tightest lock up of any revolver I own. The shop had marked it as a 1st year model and I knew the stainless sights are a little rare, but I don't interpret the serial number as 1st year, more like 1973/74 but what do I know. I enjoy first world-ish problems.

Serial # 4k9717

I would avoid that shop for careless shipping

We are all human - we all make mistakes although sometimes they are quite frustrating. Unless it happened repeatedly, writing the shop off for one employees one time mistake might not be warranted. Just saying........ Could happen to anyone!

Betcha he will double check in the future! Could be his wake up call!

I just picked up these two at a local auction this morning. The 66 has a 7K serial number and stainless sights. The 19-3 has a 2K serial number.

I would hope all Colorado gun enthusiasts continue to support their local gun stores, with all the terrible gun legislation being passed in that state.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I am no stranger to activism or recognizing corruption in government. It is not over here yet, but our shops (and all our firearms infrastructure) will have it the toughest. My local shops know me well and we won't give up.

A Non-Registered Magnum, a 360PD and the Combat Magnum walk into a bar

Actually all three went to the range together last Wednesday. The 360 is my carry piece and excels in that role for me, no pain with .38s. I am not sophisticated enough to describe how nice it is to shoot the NRM. It was only the second range visit since acquiring it last November.

The SS Combat Magnum Model 66 really excelled, for me. Does it weigh more than a M19? It feels beefier, but not heavy, to me. It shot close to point of aim with a variety of .38s. With Fiocchi 142gr 357s it was a laser! Easy to control, with minimal perceived recoil. Very flat shooting, my best performance of any of my .357s is with my, new to me, Combat Magnum.

I would not be surprised that at some point in their pre-Bob's life these revolvers had not spent an evening or two in a bar .
