A question for the Stafford, Va, folks....,

Have a friend & his wife that like to shoot. Mainly handguns, and possibly some rifle. They live in the Stafford, Va. area. The use a local indoor range that charges by the hour (an arm & a leg). I think there must be something else in that area. Possibly a private club, or a cheaper range (preferably outdoor) or a public range or county range. I have a county run range that is six miles from my house. Cost there is $15.00 to use the rifle and pistol ranges and you can stay all day if you want and change from rifle to pistol as many times as you want. Anybody have any suggestions?

I used to live in that area and was a member of the Izaak Walton League, Alexandria Chapter. They have a nice outdoor pistol and rifle range plus an area for skeet and a decent fishing pond. The range is on Garrisonville Rd. in Stafford County. I just googled them, the range is still in operation. It's been 25 years since I was there, I'm frankly surprised that suburbia has not gobbled them up yet. Check it out.
