My mom was given one when she was ten, and it hangs on my wall. I shoot it occasionally out my window at random targets floating by in the river.

A late good friend of mine actually did lose one eye because of someone using a bb gun. He was still better at basketball than me — and if he sunk a pool ball on the break, he’d usually run the table...

Looks like they’re going for $40 today: Red Ryder Model 1938 - Daisy (Also looks like they’re sold out on Daisy’s site.)

Still got mine..... the first a model 111 that shoots straight as a rainbow. The second a Boy Scouts of America edition of the model 141.... shoots straight and stings like a bee today.
I had another that said Red Ryder on it..... I think?

My wife let me purchase two of the 80th anniversary editions at walmart for 24.88 each. I never had a Red Ryder but now I do.
I kicked over many a tin can as a kid with one of those.

Anyone remember the double barrel ones ? Only made them a couple of years. They have become quite collectible. I remember seeing a kid having one when I was growing up. They are rarely found with the stock in tact since that was how you cocked it and they broke from the stress.

True story: My Dad born in 1927 received his Daisy when he was about 10, his youngest brother born in 1934, a few years later with their middle brother, 1930, were playing "tag" with it. It just so happened that the youngest had the air rifle and my Dad was the target. Dad got hit on the bridge of his nose and ended up with black eyes. He was wearing glasses and assumed that they saved his vision. 50 years later, while taking X-rays, the Doctor noticed a calcified BB just below the right eye. A short time later it was removed and the mystery of the missing BB was solved.
