A Two-Tone Model 29-2

That's a beautiful Pinto, Bill. Did it come that way when brand new, or did it go back to the factory to make it into a Pinto?

Another question here. I have seen pictures of Pintos that have the blue frames and have nickel screws on the sideplate. I wonder if that is something that the factory ever did.

1972 was the year I graduated from Ohio Northern University Pharmacy College...THAT revolver would have been a very nice graduation gift, BUT I did NOT get one...maybe I will have to try and find one of them for myself! Roger

Very cool.
I love the original classics, but I also love the oddballs out there.
Bill, someday I’d love to see your collection or part of it.
I will get around to joining the SWCA soon!
Thanks for posting.

Not really something I would care for.
Less often S&W put together a nickel frame with a blue barrel and cylinder.

Bill
I think I'd like the nickel frame and blued barrel/cylinder better, but all told, pinto's aren't my thing although they are interesting. Anyone ever get a blued and stainless version?

Very nice, and fine photograph, too.

Having said that, if you have never seen one, they are more striking “in person” than on a screen.
The first time I saw one was in the late 80s. It was a post-war .44 Special with 6.5” barrel. (Can’t remember if it was a pre-24 or model 24.). Came with a Roy Jinks letter. Price was $650.

Beautiful Pinto Bill!!! Thanks for sharing. I love the factory two-tone guns. I'm glad that they're not for everyone, as it has allowed me to pick up a few over the years. I find them quite lovely.

Since this photo was taken, I've corralled a few more. 😮 😮 Yup, it's a sickness.

WOW!! I worked at Judge’s Gun Shop in the 70’s and my wife ran the repair shop. Judges sold a lot of guns but I never saw any pintos unless Freddie did a custom job for someone. He gold plated the hammer and trigger on my 6” Python. It looked awesome!!!

Nice very nice but not my style I like all blued guns or all stainless ones old school but I do have one two tone I like a lot IMG_1218.jpeg
