AAA test-USPSTF

I went for a checkup yesterday and the Dr. told me about an AAA test for people that have smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their life. I googled it and one group they are interested in is male smokers or exsmokers 65-75 years of age. Those initials are US Preventive Services Task Force.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this group? What are their intentions, agenda, etc? Larry
