I am frustrated to death with the 500 rounds of Wolf 75 grain steel casing .223 ammo I bought. I fired less than 60 rounds out of 3 new PMAGS. I have 12 failures to chamber a round, 2 rounds jam half way into the barrel, and 4 dead primers. I thought maybe it was the PMAGS, so I put in some American Eagle brass ammo. Everything functioned flawlessly. I did an internet search and found these are common issues. What a garbage ammo. Heck, it is not even good to practice with unless you wanna practice clearing drills.

i have seen bad primers in a friends 9mm and when i got my 9mm the very first round just froze in the chamber and i have shot 4 rounds a 2 liter pop bottles filled with water the bullets just touched the bottle and fell untouched and it was that same ammo

Wolf ammo has it's highs and lows. I had a bad batch of .308 years ago, had a few case ruptures and then found out the whole lot was bad...... IMO the price isn't even good for what it is these days, for a few bucks more you can at least get Sellier & Bellot.

About 6-7 years ago Wolf was dirt cheap and it was good range blasting ammo. I must have fired a ton of their 9mm, .45 ACP, .223 and .308 through my "range beater" guns. It was dirty, and accuracy was "service accurate" at best but at $6 a box for 9mm and maybe $8-9 for the .45, who cared:) The .223 was like $150 per 1,000 and I would shoot it up through my AR-180b.

Wolf got popular and the price increase was offset by a quality decrease.

I just use Brass Ammo now, costs more, but I have had fewer problems.

The only Wolf ammo I use is their 22lr Match Target and Match Extra but it is made by a different company in Germany. I have always found it to be very consistent and reliable.

I'm still trying to burn up the lot of it that I bought. I wont make the same mistake twice.

S&B is the new Wolf ammo.

I've hear nothing but bad reports about Wolf ammo for the past 2 years now. A while back it seemed to work fine for practice but it seems those times are long past. Tula ammo is no better and why should it be since it's made in the same place.
