“... In a very nonchalant way, I just kept walking, and I said, hey, why are you guys putting masks on? Are you getting ready to rob the store? And it was more of just a comment, but then their eyes got really big, and I knew that they were actually getting ready to rob the store,” said Gibson. ...

Gibson said he warned security of the potential danger and as he was leaving the parking lot, shots rang out. “One of the first ones hit me in the face, and immediately, I didn’t have sight in my left eye...

...With at least four more surgeries ahead of him, Gibson is grateful to the friends, family members, and strangers who’ve raised nearly 20 thousand dollars to help with medical bills. ....

No good deed goes unpunished.

Keep your mouth shut.

I see an ever increasing number of people today that are simply incapable of keeping their mouth shut. As my dad used to say they talk to hear their heads rattle. I have found the talk to hear their heads rattle group can’t be defined by age or sex or income or education. The rattlers defy any pigeonholing.

I had a nice, otherwise competent legal secretary work for me for a week a few years back. She talked endlessly in a running commentary about everything she saw and experienced. I let her go that Friday of the first week because I simply could not stand to be around her any longer.

I would bet the gentleman mentioned in this article is an endless rattler. Hopefully getting shot in the face will shut him up.

I had a cousin, loved him like a brother but his mouth was wired directly to the primitive part of his brain. Just could not keep shut about anything resulting in us getting into scraps when he invariably offended someone.
It's been almost 40 years since he died in a single vehicle accident.

The better answer if one perceives such conduct is to get out of the area as fast as possible and call 911. The more one interacts with odd circumstances, the greater the risk.

Or shut up and call 911 from a place where the persons at high risk of criminal behavior can't see you.

What an idiot! Challenge three teens who he thinks are going to commit an armed robbery? Why the hell else would they be putting on masks outside of a grocery store?

Call police, stay in the area and be a good witness. Other than that shut up and stay out of the way!

Victim was "Jeremy Gibson, a filmmaker." Just maybe this explains a lot!;)

When asked if he would do it again, Gibson responded, “I think I probably would. I think I would.”

Someone once told me an intelligent man learns by reading books, a smart man learns from other people's mistakes, but only complete fool doesn't learn from his own mistakes. Here's your sign.

Mind boggling responses. If you see something, run and hide, and its the fault of the victim of this heinous crime for not doing so. Of course, opinions might differ if it was one of your loved ones being victimized and a witness ran and hid. Or one of you guys with a shield were attacked on the job and all the witnesses "did the right thing" and ran away leaving you to fend for yourself. I'm sure glad I don't live where any of you guys live.

Growing up and living in ABQ, unless it directly involves me, experience has taught me that walking away and not getting involved makes my life far less complicated.

The guy in the article, his life is complicated and will be for the foreseeable future because he's an idiotic busybody.

What would you have done in that exact scenario?

What would you have done in that exact scenario?

The same stinkin thing.

As he was leaving, three teen boys huddled in the parking lot with neck gaiters on caught his attention.
“I walked by and said, ‘Why are you guys putting masks on? Are you getting ready to rob the store?'” said Gibson.
He says the teens just stared him down. Gibson went to his car to call 911 but realized he left his phone at home. Then, as he was driving out of the parking lot:
“It was, ‘pop, pop, pop,’” said Gibson.

But then again, I'm not a gutless wonder that runs and hides at the slightest hint of trouble. These muts and feral pieces of garbage thrive on the attitudes displayed in this thread.
