Being old I check my "user profile" to check if I have said any dumb stuff recently. I noticed "Matthew George" (user name "mg357") as one of my half dozen "friends," noticed he hadn't posted in quite some time and decided to investigate. Unfortunately I found this. Young fellow, I liked his attitude. Saw things his way and posted that perspective. RIP. Joe

June 21, 1985 ~ August 20, 2022 (age 37)

Matthew K. George, 37, of Washington, passed away at 2:58 pm, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on June 21, 1985, in Peoria, the son of Robbie and Paula Ripley George. His father, his stepfather Richard Burger, and his paternal and maternal grandparents preceded him in death.

Those who knew him best said he was a man with a vibrant personality who lived an active and happy life surrounded by people who loved him.

As others have said, in spite of his difficulties, he seemed to maintain good perspective. I doubt I could have done as well. Rest In Peace, Mg357.

I'm also sorry to hear this. He had an awesome attitude, enjoyed the board and spent over 12 years here.

My condolences to the family.

This saddens me. May he rest in peace.

I was surprised to see how young he was. He wrote like someone much older.

I was fortunate indeed to be one of his 41 forum friends. I recall how hard he worked on his fictional short stories that he posted here.

I am saddened by his loss but rejoice that he is now whole.

I, too, was one of Matthew’s forum friends, and remember him writing short stories and doing a lot of research for them. He asked the opinion of forum members in choosing characters and weapons, too. IIRC, he wrote one about a private detective in a wheelchair. I enjoyed his posts, and will miss him. RIP Matthew.
