After waiting for way too long found a sportII when was out of state $550.? The front sight has a short rail on the bottom what fits it? Sure it's not for a bayonet ha ha thinking maybe a flashlight or laser perhaps

I am assuming this is what you are talking about: http://www.smith-wesson.com/wcsstore/SmWesson2/upload/images/firearms/detail_md/10202_02_md.jpg

It is a bayonet lug, however bayonets won't fit quite right (without a spacer/adapter) and will rattle. You need a rifle with a 14.5 inch barrel or a 16 inch barrel with a mid-length gas system or a 20 inch rifle barrel for the bayonet to fit correctly. However, there are gadgets out there that will allow you to attach a raill or weapon light there.

That bayonet lug and the A frame sight can be used with 1 of these to add a light

If your sport is going to see some frequent use, I'd recommend changing the hand guard because the oem one does not have a heat shield. If you went the magpul route you will then have a heat shield and will have much more flexibility for rail locations.
