Bought new 30 Carry yesterday and now have three Sheilds in the stable. Headed for the range Wednesday. The rumors about stiff mag springs are true. Stable includes .45, 30 Super Carry, and a .22LR. Can't get the pics to upload.

Update, range report
Pretty impressed with the little gun. More accurate than I am. I ran about 130 rnds through it Speer Gold Dot and Blazer 115's without a hiccup. Noticeable muzzle flip but not enough to cause a problem. Not much recoil and fun to shoot. I attribute the muzzle flip to being a high pressure round.

It's a great gun and perfect size for the round. I do wonder, though, what it would be like in a Bodyguard 2.0.

It's a 50,000 max psi round, so it would probably be unpleasant and cause durability issues in a BG 2.0 sized pistol.

However, you are on to something.

Some have thought that .30 Super Carry might have been better if instead of being designed for pistol that started out as 9mm, it was designed more as a modernized .32 ACP for locked breach .380 pistols. Make it rimless instead of semi-rimmed, and go from 20,500 psi to maybe 25-30k psi. We'd have to figure out some way to keep people from shooting it in .32 ACPs and blowing them up, maybe make the case slightly longer like the 9x21mm.

Love mine. Feels like it shoots better than my 9.

Keep your eyes peeled for a cheap 9 slide and barrel on eBay, and you can swap that on the frame to add another caliber.

Gathering brass, reloading this round should be interesting. Bullet variety fairly limited.

I know this is old, but I was starting to feel like the Lone Ranger out here. I bought a "used" S&W, EZ in 30 Super Carry a few weeks ago. It was in like new condition, and sold for less than half what a NIB one was tagged at.

I'm up to 150 rounds through it and really like it. The ammo has been fairly cheap around here recently, mostly I suppose because no one buys it and they're dumping it. I've been paying 15-20 bucks a box of 50 range ammo...Federal American Eagle, and Remington UMC, so I've sort of layed in a small stash. I've got some Remington SD ammo due in today.

The EZ probably isn't the best platform for it. It only offeres a two round advantage over a 9mm or a 380 IIRC, and it is a fairly big gun, but it does shoot well. I had thought the round might be great in a BG-2 size gun, but the pressure/recoil would probably say ....naw....You don't want to do that.

I hope it picks up or at least they keep making ammo for it. If not, it won't be the first paperweight I've bought. Maybe I'll get some brass and dies just in case. No, I'm too lazy to chase brass anymore. I'll stick to reloading for revolvers.

Got dies in going to wait till I get more brass before reloading for it. Still Haven't decided on a powder yet. I have plenty of primers. Also need to decide which bullet. Any suggestions?
