I have a PPC gun that was built in the late 70's. (10-6) It has the tri-set settings at the back side of the rib. 8&3/8" barrel. I may be a slow learner, but don't know if you go to the preset yardage to set each 1, or what. I contacted Aristocrat, and they were not much help. Any help would be appreciated. I have not shot it yet, as it is a recent purchase. Are there any videos on this? Thanks, Bob

To adjust, I believe you should first rotate the large knob on the right side of the rib to the detent that achieves the lowest setting of the sight slide itself. I can't remember how the rear sight allen screws are marked on top. It may be "7", "15", and "25", or "1", "2", "3". The thumbscrew should have corresponding marks. Regardless how the sight is marked, you have three distances you can pre-set for your ammo and desired hold on the target.

With the knob at the "1" detent, (lowest) adjust the allen screw marked "1" to the correct POA at that range. Then, move back to the 15 yard line, (or whatever distance desired) move the large thumbscrew/dial to the middle detent, (2) and after shooting the desired hold on the target, adjust the allen screw marked "2" to the correct POA at that range. Move back to the 25 yard line (or whatever) and turn the large thumbscrew so that the sight body is at it's highest setting (3) ....then, shoot the gun and adjust the last allen screw (3) to the correct blade hight for that distance. You can then change the sight height for the distance you are shooting by simply rotating the large thumbscrew to the desired setting.....1,2, or 3.

This allows PPC shooters to use the "hold" they want at different distances....and they don't have to carry a screwdriver and make click sight adjustments between stages.

Almost correct. The number 1 position is for center hold at the 7, 15 and 25 yard lines. The number 2 position is for neck or head hold at the 25 yard line. The number 3 position is for neck or head hold at the 50 yard line. The allen screws are used for coarse adjustments, all though you can get very close for the number one position. The large elevation screw can then be used for fine adjustments at the 25 and 50 yard lines. Be sure to return the large screw to it`s original position before moving to the next yard line.

This 1 is set up for 7, 25, & 50. With your help, I am beginning to understand. I never said I was the smartest guy! Thanks, Bob

Forgive the necro-post.

When adjusting the allens on the Aristocrat rib, does clockwise move the rear sight up or down?

It's actually a few posts above mine, but it doesn't cover that. It just says "set a center hold", etc.

Ah hah, we're both right!

Adjustment instructions are separate from usage instructions because... reasons.

If you want point of impact to come up turning the set screws down or in
(clockwise) raises the rear sight. If you want to lower point of impact
turn the set screws up or out (counter clockwise) which lowers the rear
sight.

The slotted elevation screw works differently, turning the screw down
(clockwise) lowers the rear sight. Turning it up (counter clockwise)
raises the rear sight. Adjusting this screw affects all three set screws
and should only be used for minimal adjustments, such as ammunition
changes.

The three set screws when turned in or out by 1/4 turn will get you about
3 inches (75mm) at 25 yards (27 meters). The slotted elevation screw just
behind the three set screws will get 1/4 inch (6.5mm) per click at 25
yards.

So the answer is... both. Wow. Clockwise on the allens raises the rear sight, clockwise on the fine-adjustment screw lowers it.
