Hi all. I am new to this forum. I was an avid collector of S&W revolvers during the 70s. At one time I had 76 guns. Anyway I now have only a handful. I do still have two new in the box, never fired 14-3s. They are:
Serial number 8K35XXX which is a pinned barrel 8 3/8 inch with standard trigger and hammer. It is single action/double action. It is unfired and in the original box with all the documentation brush, swab and cleaning rod.
and
Serial number 8K85XXX which is a pinned barrel 8 3/8 inch with wide trigger and target hammer. It is single action only. I do not own the double action kit for it. It is also unfired and in the original box.

I want to sell the single action/double action one but I have no idea of what it is worth today. I planned on taking it to Cabelas.
Any advice anyone of you folks could offer me would be greatly appreciated.

find similar guns on one of the auction sites, and follow it till it closes that will give you a pretty good idea of what they sell for. Don't pay any attention to the asking prices, find closed prices of sold guns.

Just for grits and shins I'd take it to cabelas and see what they'd offer you, while you're out you may as well stop by the pawn shop and maybe even a local gun store.

Unless you're in a big hurry and not concerned with how much you may get for it I'd not sell it to a local retail re-seller.

I'm sure several here on this forum might be interested in them once you decide how much you're asking......you know we have a classified section for just such purposes.

I just bought a 14-4 8-3/8's, standard hammer and trigger, with service stocks on GB last week. It has been fired, barely, and included a mint box, paperwork, the tools still in the bag and is in absolutely flawless condition. I paid $599 plus 30 shipping and was tickled to find it. I had been looking for awhile and this was the best deal I had seen. Most were in the $700 to $900 range and they weren't this nice.
