Brett248vista is right if your barrel is threaded if its not youll have to do a little research to find a slip on one with set screws.

I have a non threaded barrel on my 15-22 and use the true shot technologies flash hider.

Thanks everyone! My barrel is threaded, just looking to replace the factory flash hider. I'll give brownell's a shot. Oh, and a big thanks to Brett248Vista, your FCG removal/ re-installation videos were a big help with putting in my JP Yellows. Off to the farm now to see what she can do :D

This is exactly what i was looking for since I was one of the unfortunate ones to purchase the 15-22 with out a factory installed flash hider.

has anyone had any problems with the hider falling off or any problems of any kind?

A layer of Red Loctite between the barrel and the flash hider is considered a permanent bond. It will take high (probably 300 degrees) to soften it.

check out a local gunsmith..
ours is in to have flash hider added.
we also have non-threaded barrel, he is going to turn down inside of flash hider and bond it to barrel so if i decide to scrap the hider later, i will not have the set screw marks on the barrel end.
have seen others he has done and none have had a problem.
cost was less than threading barrel, but a little above the set screw hider.

Medium thread lock or no thread lock at all. You can even drill a divot in the middle of the screw mark with a 1/4" drill. Only about 3/4 of the tapered tip of the drill or so. That will give the tip of the set screw something to lock into.

I was thinking more along the lines of what TST recommends - red (or blue) Loctite between the barrel and the adapter.

You could do that too. There is only a couple thousandths clearance between the barrel and the adapter.
It is the lack of air that makes thread lock set up.

I'm here to help.
Thank you for the compliment. I do all I can to make the best products available. Everything with the tacticool22 brand is Made in America.
