Kinda curious, I see custom barrels for the K and L frame revolvers normally targeting PPC conversions. One source is Clark Custom Guns, over the years I have bought from them.

Anyone make aftermarket barrels for the 617?

Just as with some of the PC X frames, it is possible that Lothar Walther or another aftermarket manufacturer makes 617 replacement barrels. But I would try some pricy .22 target ammunition first before looking, you may find it shoots just fine as is.

The reason you don't see replacement barrels for the 617 is, "There Is No Need". The factory barrels are capable of outstanding accuracy.

There is a need if you prefer a 6-7" slab barrel for example "action pistol" anchoring on the barricade. Accuracy and comfort are both the goal and the 617 revolvers could be seeing more popularity in action pistol as the rimfire events increase.

It's not that hard to make a slab sided barrel from a blank and put a front sight on it.

And if you want a custom barrel Protocall Design is the source...he fab'd a couple of 6" slab barrels for my 986 9mm revolvers. Still considering having him make me a 6 or 7" barrel for my action pistol 617 revolver.
