Has anyone successfully shot this ammunition (22LR Aguila Super Colibri) from their M&P15-22? I don't expect it to cycle and feed, but for the occasional one shot (without alarming the neighbors) to take out rat/squirrel in garden, should I be able to shoot it safely? Manually eject spent round, little or low noise from shot?

i have shot colibri and super colibri out of my 45/8" ruger single six. one is a little louder than the other, can't remember which.
neither should be a problem at all out of your longer barrel. they are underpowered for squirrels to be humanely dispatched w/any regularity.

I have springer type air rifles that make more noise, they are not super quiet but pretty quiet out of a rifle. Depends on the how close the neighbors are, maybe a bit loud for the city, might be better off with a airgun in case somebody does call the cops.

I've shot a few hundred Colibris through my S&W 18-2. They have no powder, just the priming compound and a 20 grain bullet. They're very quiet and fun for popping aluminum cans and plastic bottles, but they usually don't make it out the other side of the container! I think they'd be underpowered even for squirrels. Also, the manufacturer recommends that they only be used in handguns because of the possibility of the bullet not having enough power to make it out of the longer rifle barrel.

I don't know about the Super Colibri, but I would not use the Colibri in a 15-22.

yes they will shoot out of this rifle. they sell two types

Aguila .22 colibri in a rainbow box color 375fps really super quite/ hear the bolt try and cycle lol

Aguila .22 super colibri silver/blue box 500fps sounds like a big air rifle with a slight snap.

the reading i have done, the super colibri could be more or less then 500fps so holding any tight group is not good.

just make sure if you use this ammo to listen to the bullet hit whatever you are shooting as i used the 375fps in a 1950s .22 and they would jam in the barrel every so often. no jams in the S&W though but you have to watch the loading of the rounds as they are short and will not feed that great.

I have been using the 500fsp Super for years. It will fire from a mp15-22 but it will not feed from the mag. It does load from the mag of a 10/22. they are awesome bullets. 100's of kills.

So, I ordered boxes of both the Aguila Colibri and the Super Colibri and both worked fine in my M&P 15-22. Thank you for all of the advice, especially listening for target impact and checking if doubt. Neither round would cycle from the magazine, but both shot well enough and were whisper quiet, it was hard to believe. Will probably stick with the Super Colibri, as it was not that much louder and more accurate. Living in the State I do (CA), I unfortunately have no other options for noise suppression.

I have used the Aguilla Colibri and Super Colibri in a S&W K-22 revolver which is sighted in to point of aim at 50 ft. with SV ammo. The Colibri prints ca 3 1/2 inches low and the Super Colibri a bit less than one inch low - both groups were ca 2 inch with the Super Colibri making a tighter 20 shot group.
