Not that I am a suspicious sort - yea right!

The decision is nothing short of shocking. Chapman was killed in March 2022 after being abandoned on a mountain in Afghanistan when the SEAL Team 6 team he was attached to retreated under fire.

He fought to the bloody end to save the SEALs and the Rangers were coming in as a QRF force. Britt Slabinski - one of the men who retreated - also earned the Medal of Honor and will reportedly receive his own exhibit. He's also on the board of the museum.

there are alot of bronze star recipients in the us army, that earned that bronze star doing identical things in korea and vietnam.

holding 2,000 chinese troops with a single 30 cal machine gun and a few belts of ammo in the middle of winter so 30 guys could get out is only worth a bronze star, but what this guy did from the gist of complaints on camera makes it worthy of a medal of honor.

Decorations are neither earned nor won, they are awarded. Not a competition or contest, a recognition of valor and bravery. Many acts have gone unrecognized.
The vetting process of awarding the CMH is quite complex. Unfortunately, there are military personnel who should have received it, but didn’t. Richard Winters, of Band of Brothers is a good example. Also, some decorations were awarded for political reasons. Google LBJ and his Silver Star to see an example of this.
John Chapman is very much a hero.
