We've gotten hooked on the TV shows featuring Alaska; Buying Alaska, The Last Frontier, Extreme Alaska, and Alaskan Railroad. Is anyone else enjoying these?

I like watching them and thinking, 'Man...that sure looks like it would be fun." Deep down knowing, that IRL, it wouldn't be all that much fun at all. I guess that's what TV is about though.

I like the railroad show and the one that comes on Sunday night, I can't think of the name, my wife likes the buying Alaska, I can't believe the prices they are asking for some of those house's.

I watch Yukon Men, The Last Frontier and Life Below Zero. I especially enjoy the abilities of the women and the way they go about getting the work done.

With so little on TV worth watching we really enjoy all of the shows mentioned above. Mountain Men features a guy in Alaska and we enjoy Gold Rush and Bearing Sea Gold as well. We just set the DVR to record the series and skip through all of the commercials. I'll never live there but we sure enjoy watching those that do.

Charlotte on TLF amazes me, herding cattle, moving outhouses, anything that needs done.

Mucking out the chicken coop and lancing 1308s absess did not look like fun!

Smithsonian channel had a two part series on Alaska. Covered the state very well

My favorite is the one about the serial frozen water pipe terrorist that terrorized entire cities by using a Freon machine to freeze people's water pipes. The suspense of watching those pipes slowly but surly freeze, then burst was just amazing.

Buying Alaska is my favorite, think I've seen most of the series and several of them more then once! Don't think the dry cabin lifestyle is for me though.

Making Soap

I caught part of that episode last night, I never knew making soap could be so dangerous. I've watched all the shows mentioned by everyone so far in this post. My favorites are Yukon men and mountain men, but I enjoy them all.
