The Silver Spur Gun and Knife show was this past weekend.
I thought it was pretty good. Saw some nice S&Ws and Colts at good and ridiculous prices. A NIB M28-2 with box and accessories for $600.00 which still had not sold by show's end on Saturday.
Saw two M27-2s with 3 1/2 inch barrels, one a nickel Austin PD the other a wood box with accessories in blue, price was (I think) $1150.00 for the APD and $1250.00 for the blued, boxed version. Might be a good price to someone and not so good to another. Could have been negotiated down maybe/maybe not.
I bought five handguns, a Colt Trooper in .38 Special, a Colt MKIV/Series 70 nickel in .45 ACP, and three S&Ws; a nickel 3 1/2 inch M1903 .32 Postwar, a 2 inch M64, and a nickel 6 inch Hand Ejector M&P Fourth Change.
Walked up to a table that had a wide variety of .22 and larger caliber pistol ammo. It must have been priced "right" because before I could even look two fellows came up with a four wheeled cart and started loading all of the ammo to carry it off. The dealer even had cases under the table as well as on it and it all went to the two buyers.
I saw other pistol ammunition that was also reasonably priced. I saw a pile of Federal "Eagle" .40 S&W 165 grain loads at $20.00 per 50 round box. I walked on as I had a few more aisles to check out and figured I might come back and buy some of it. My friend had tarried behind me earlier and so we were separated. Moments later he caught up to me with a big box in his hands. He had bought all the boxes I just looked at!
I was surprised that it never got as crowded as I suspected it might. I guess a lot of people have bought/hoarded all they can do for now.
