All the jokes about bears are funny until...

Discovering a bear at very close range is alarming.

Last year, my sister was loading trash in the back of her subaru at our mountain home to take to the dump.

She left the car door open while she went into the cabin for another load.

When she came out of the cabin with the next load of trash, she discovered a bear in the front seat going through the trash.

She got back to the cabin safely and called me wanting to know where the bear spray was.

Bear wandered away in a few hours.

Car stunk of bear for weeks.

Sir, I f you and Sis can’t appreciate the classis aroma of Royall Lyme cologne, you have no one to blame but yourself. I suppose you don’t like Panama hast either:D:D?

For all we know, that bear had injured his foot. Was he limping by any chance?

For the next 6 -8 weeks...

..

Tried everything including cologne, aggressive detailing, open windows, coffee grounds and tomatoe juice.

Took weeks before the car could be used properly.

Stink would get on clothes so anyone in the car carried the bear stink wherever they went.

This keeps getting better. does anyone remember the Seinfeld smelly car episode?

Wife, my wife's friend and I went to Sequoia National park for some camping. Talked to some folks who'd never seen a bear the entire time they were there...we encountered at least 7 various brown, black and cinnamon bears during out three day stay. The most interesting of the two encounters: #1, dumping out the garbage into the big bins and one jumped out ten feet away and ran for the hills: #2, went to hear the fireside chat with the park ranger, who, after talking about the local bears, pointed out one 25 feet behind us that had come for the show....been bothered more by raccoons than bears, at least in a park they know not to mess with the locals!
