Wife, my wife's friend and I went to Sequoia National park for some camping. Talked to some folks who'd never seen a bear the entire time they were there...we encountered at least 7 various brown, black and cinnamon bears during out three day stay. The most interesting of the two encounters: #1, dumping out the garbage into the big bins and one jumped out ten feet away and ran for the hills: #2, went to hear the fireside chat with the park ranger, who, after talking about the local bears, pointed out one 25 feet behind us that had come for the show....been bothered more by raccoons than bears, at least in a park they know not to mess with the locals!
