I had put together this little cart with a drill press, belt sander, and bench grinder several years ago and it has served me well. I knew it was not very sturdy and planned to eventually beef it up, but procrastinated ad nauseum. It finally started to really give up the ghost a couple weeks ago and with one more move across the garage, it would have probably collapsed on me.

So I picked up a harbor freight 27” roll away cabinet on sale and moved everything over to it. I had to pick up some fasteners on the way home from work to get it mounted. I still need to bolt it down through the deck into some unistrut to distribute the weight. I’m using scuba weights and several boxes of bullets in the bottom drawer and I replaced the two fixed casters with swivel to move it around more easily.

I’ve still been working on this as time permits. I made a few upgrades like adding the rear shelf to put the mini-lathe on and painting it. The drawers work out well to get my drill bits and hole saws organized and for some other corded power tools like drills and sanders. And of course some good ballast in the keel to counteract the top heaviness of it.IMG_7234.jpegIMG_7235.jpegIMG_7236.jpegIMG_7238.jpegIMG_7239.jpegIMG_7240.jpegIMG_7241.jpegIMG_7242.jpeg
