I have a Model 14-7 with the left side of the frame below the cylinder stamped "BAKCI2xxx." Stamping is light, uneven and seems hastily done, with the "B" double stamped and the second number over-stamped and hard to read. Gun came from the Midwest. I emailed the dealer to see if he had any idea what it meant and got no response.
Possibly an evidence mark? I'd expect that to be quite legible and maybe done with an electric pencil. Might be just a quickly applied company stamp. Wouldn't expect either to be commonly applied to a target revolver with a 6" barrel. Gun shows very light wear on either side of the muzzle, also not what I'd expect on a target revolver, being less likely to be holster-carried. Gun shows little use otherwise. What do you think?
