Noticed a distressed American Flag while enjoying more fishing yesterday. It was wound around some dock supports and was just outta reach. While pondering current events, decided, this Flag needs righted and proudly flying. Moved in position and began poking, pushing and twisting with the end of a fishing rod. After a couple minutes Our Flag is once again flying/waving in the breeze. While admiring the adjustments a relaxing, calming feeling ensued. Then...... water around the boat exploded into a frenzy of large spotted bass massacring small shad. Zinged a top water bait into the boils and immediately hooked the largest bass of the day. That fish coughed several shad around the boat while flouncing. The count between shad remaining in its mouth an slung around the boat, was 13. I've never seen that many shad in a bass' mouth before, not even close. Ok, I'm thinking thirteen Flag bars...... thirteen shad......largest fish of the day right after unfurling Our Flag? Must be a coincidence!

Couple hours later while dropping the limit(10th) fish inside the well one of the earlier fish rockets out of the livewell, clears the deck and escapes certain fate with the frying pan. Couldn't help but chuckle while thinking how wonderful Our Freedoms are. All this patriotic thinking brought on by a couple of insignificant small fish, and all on the day before Veterans Day!

Despite all the current uncertainty, I have this calming reassurance that all is well....... And it's all thanks to the sacrifices and bravery of Our Veterans!

A very sincere Thank You to All Veterans!

Bob—When I see flags get tangled it is almost always in a horizontal hanging display like the one above. It should have clearance above it the length and width of the flag. When it gets blown upward, it is going to get tangled in the struts above because the roof is too low. I bet that is how you found it tangled.

I learned from a lady at a flag company that you should always have clearance all the way around the flag for it's length and width. That is why vertical poles are the best. (And to have hanging hardware to prevent the flag from getting wrapped around a pole).

Yep, it was blown upward and over....and dang it John! Here I'm up at 4am loading the boat because you have me worried about that Flag:D

Might as well hunt down that big school of spotted bass while I'm there;)

Have worked out the Taurus TX22 here lately these last couple of days.....All the good pistols are quarantined.....Maybe?
