Hopefully this belongs in this section, sorry if I goofed and it goes elsewhere..

I just received a magazine subscription offer to American Gunsmith. I never even heard of this rag before. It said it was for 6 issues. Anyone on here have any comments or know anything about this company/mag!.

Thanks

It's not a fancy magazine, almost a booklet form.
The articles are written by professional gunsmiths and "most" of them are good.
Once in a while you get one that's a little questionable.

The only problem is, these are generally for pros, and you may wait a while before you see anything that's useful for you.

Awhile back I got a solicitation from some wood working journal. I've got no real interest (it may have been the family trade waaaaay back, but I've got a dust allergy), but some of the articles looked interesting & neat. After seeing it was $140 a year, I tossed it.

I've got a collection of old American Rifleman mags. They were saved because of the technical gunsmithing articles. You don't see those anymore. I guess the lawyers done scared the editors. Somewhere I've got an article by (old timers struck, can't recall who started RCBS), on cutting chambers. Both very informative and highly entertaining.

Added edit: Fred Huntingdon. The grey cells still work, the data retrieval just takes longer.
