Curios as to what others are shooting in there .40 cal.

  1. What range ammo do you shoot?
  2. What personal protection ammo do you use?
  3. If bought on the web where do you purchase from?

If you do NOT shoot a 40cal than please start your own thread.

Thanks

Range ammo: Winchester White Box 165gr FMJ purchased at Wally World in '100 round value pack's.

Personal Protection: Magtech Guardian Gold 155gr JHP local gun shop

Remington UMC 180gr FMJ or reloads for practice
Remington UMC 180gr JHP for defense

Speer Lawman, Federal WM Special, Blazer Aluminum

Speer Gold Dot 165, Golden Saber Bonded 180, HST 180, DT DPX 125

I search the internet pretty hard before I make ammo purchases then I buy in bulk. For a while WM had cheaper ammo than I could find online and when it was finally available agin I stocked up on it as well. I've got about 20,000 spent once fired cases saved up and when the rest of my new ammo is shot up I'll be buying reloading equipment. I recycle the deprimed Blazer Aluminum cases with my coke and beer cans.

Federal, American Eagle for range.
Magtech "First Defense" for self defense.

I shoot my reloads (180 grn) for practice and I shoot Winchester Ranger 155 gr T series for my carry loads. These can usually only be found at gun shows as most websites will only sell the Ranger line to LE only.

Range: Federal 180 gn (From Walmart)

Practice with what you carry!! You are the most Inportant one,

Agreed?? I know I am.

Think on this..

True words of wisdom.

I would feel comfortable using FMJ ammo as I would JHP in critical situations. Yet the cost difference between the two in same brand, same weight is not going to buy a cup of coffee per box.

"Practice" ammo will not hit like "Serious" ammo.

1. Magtech 180gr FMJ with some Winchester 180gr JHP Ranger.

2. Winchester 180gr JHP Ranger.

3. Any place that has it in stock with the cheapest price and shipping charges.
