So I stroll into The Sportsman Warehouse with my usual low expections.
When I get back to the usually empty Ammo shelves, I see Ammo.
Or do I? Is it really ammo or sadistic trick that some folks like to play.
I pick up a box. Yes, it's out in the open like in a real Gun Store!
Heavy. Shake it. Sounds like Ammo.
The letter says 2 Box limit.
Yes, they have 38 Special, 357, 380, 44 Mag,45ACP, 40 and 9.
I select some 9mm.
On the other side they have 22 and several Rifle Calibers.
Not sure if this signals a return to Normalcy or nay.
But it's great to actually see Ammo stacked on a shelf out in the open!
I paid $21.99 a box.

Hopefully they will start shipping to their stores here in the east soon.

Stopped by our local Sportsman Warehouse yesterday and they had some pistol ammunition!! 5 boxes of 20 rounds each of 32 H&R Mag limit one box per customer. In rifle, they had plenty of 7x64mm, 375 H&H, & a couple of others I'd have to look up in Cartridges of the World to Identify. Rimfire? Forget it!

I've got enough to keep shooting for a little while but what will it be like when I run out?

Normalcy will return slowly - a little here a little there. Looks like your first "little there" just happened.

Of course like every shortage, the prices will likely never return to the pre-shortage level, or if they do it will take almost up until the beginning of the next shortage before they do.

That is what happened this most recent cycle. We got past the last shortage and prices came down to the "old" normal (<5 cents per round of 22LR, <20 cents per round of 9mm, etc.) and we had a glut of ammo at those prices for about 6 months - then the current shortage hit.

I don't expect this time to be any different unless there is some new federal legislation that changes things for the worse. Though this drought has been way worse than the last one. But then hasn't everything bad been even worse this time around?

Funny thing!.
My local Sportsman also has a good supply of 7x64.
When I was there last week, that was almost all they had!

Was at a garage sale Sunday, actually taking the wife to Bonefish Grill, passed a sign that said huge clear-out garage sale, wife of course informed me we were going, so we finally found the place, and lo and behold, the guy had AMMO AMMO AMMO. I ended up getting 3 cases of IMI 9mm 115gr FMJ and 2 cases of RED ARMY 115gr FMJ 9mm. Paid 300 a case for the IMI and 275 for the Red Army. Also managed to bag 2 boxes of Field and Stream 45acp and 2 boxes of GECO 45acp for 15 a box. The good find was some USMC 76gr JHP 45acp, 20/box at 10 a box, 2 of those and 1 box of that Guard Dog stuff.

My LGS has literally pallets of ammo on the sales floor . Unfortunately with tax it all works out to be about a buck around .

Was out perusing today, BassPro had a sign up front in big bold letters NO AMMO. However a gunshop locally had quite a bit of ammo incorporated 124gr JHP 20/box, at 59.99 a box before taxes. Man I miss the good ole days.

Don't kid yourself, LOL. You simply got there mere moments after the kid completed stocking the shelf. Go back tomorrow...you'll see....

Ditto, around here ammo "might" show up, a very small amount of it, and it's gone within hours. The store shelves are still empty, literally everywhere...
