hello everyone,
about ammunition of all calibers I find that the prices applied to you are significantly higher than here in Belgium, if I refer to the prices seen in your shot shows (Miami for example), moreover I learns that Biden has made the decision to ban the importation of Russian ammunition !! Does this also concern ammunition from other eastern countries? such as
"partizans": Serbia or S&B: Czech Republic, here in Belgium we use them a lot for the value for money.
for example: S&B 9 para: + - 200 € (236 $) / 1000pc, 223rem: 47.5 $ for 100pc, 308 win: 41.3 $ / 50pc what are the average prices at home for this ammunition?

Before the covid panic (and the following riots) of 2020, I bought a lot of S&B 9mm. Most of the time it was $180 or below.

We're lucky to see it at $400 for 1000 rds now. I don't know all the reasons, but I strongly suspect that once it was demonstrated that people would pay (a lot) more, none of the retailers want to cut prices again.

Oh, and if I may ask:

can you tell us if the S&B or Prvi Partizan you're seeing is from a new shipment (freshly made ammo), or if it's been sitting on shelves awhile? It's my understanding that Canada, for example, retained better prices than the US longer, but in part due to not running out of their older stock as soon (less of a run on ammo than we had, here).

Prices in the US moved a little with the initial Covid scare (February 2020), but they were coming back down, and were more available, a couple months after that. But in May 2020, after we started seeing social unrest on a large scale here, things skyrocketed, and have never come back down.
Edit to add: prices over here began to fall again towards the end of the year, but as the Presidential election neared in November, things jumped again.


Also, can you tell if there was ever a shortage of S&B where you are- a disruption of supply, which has since been restored? We stopped seeing European ammo for awhile, except for the Russian stuff, which seemed to stay constant or even increase.

Regarding the ban, it is Russian only. Serbia, Czech, Hungary etc are not included.

When movement of inventory slows to the point it effects cash flow, you'll see prices gradually come down. In the Vegas and Reno areas it seems ammo isn't flying off the shelves as fast as it was 4-6 months ago. However, it seems handgun ammo (except 357 mag)is coming down slowly, especially 9mm and 223/5.56. Everything else is still silly high.

hello thank you for these clarifications, after checking it seems that you are right about the stocks of ammunition here in europe which have been sold and now seem to be running out little by little, because the new prices displayed are increasing globally, from the less with regard to ammunition made in USA (winchester, remington, cci) but also for S&B and partizan (law of supply and demand) for ammunition and Russian reloading accessories the prices remain + - stable, on the other hand for weapons manufactured at home in the USA, there is a shortage here in Belgium !! AR15 and AR10 especially become very difficult to acquire, your internal market absorbs a maximum of new weapons
