Ammo prices are going up again ??

AGAIN, it looks like we are our own worst enemy! People are again starting to hoard ammo and loading supplies so the prices are going to go up and the only one hurt will be us.

Luckily I have been buying small amounts of both over the past 3 years so I didn't get hit with the overdone prices after the Obama election and I won't have to buy anything now that the prices are again on the rise. (for no good reason I'll add!)

+1. Been doing exactly the same thing. Don't need to buy anything....

This is why I got into reloading and stocked up on components months ago.

Don't wait until you need ammo, watch the sales and specials. As an example, Cabelas recently had Federal Bulk packs (375) on sale for $ 10.49 with free shipping. The price is now back up to $ 12.99. Normal shipping for that order would be $ 15.00. I've found a good technique, when looking for such deals, is to bookmark a site to check regularly. Especially when you see free shipping, often the first day this starts (actually the first few hours) they haven't changed the prices on sale items (yet). They often do by the end of the day. This once happened with the Federal 525 Bulk pack, now $ 19.99 on sale. Back on this day it was marked for $ 14.99 in the early AM of the free shipping day, I bought 10 boxes, by afternoon it was back to retail, $ 22.99.

My local Wal-Mart has had trouble stocking 9mm ever since it got warm. I've had to buy brands I normally wouldn't just so I could go shooting. I was talking with the manager and she said every spring there is a rush to buy ammo as people are wanting to get out after a long winter. If I was a business, I'd charge more when the demand was high too. I don't know if that's what they're doing but it makes sense.

I just got my morning paper and the LGS' weekly sales ad came out.

All prices are for Federal:

9 mm 115 gr = $11.99
40 S&W 180 gr = $14.99
45 ACP 230 gr = $16.99
CCI 22LR 500 RDS = $15.99
