I cruised by the ammo counter last evening and found 5 boxes of .30-30 ammo - bought them all. Asked the counter guy about upcoming shipments and he said that he had received only 3 boxes of handgun ammo that day - 2 .45s and 1 .40. and didn't know when he'd receive any more.

The shelves are bare except for shotgun shells.

at the Big 5 sporting goods in Santa Barbara, CA, a box of 50 .38 specials was $27.95. had to take a pass.

I came across a box of 250 .38 spls at gander mtn. for $100. I passed. Instead I bought a new to me shotgun for less than that :). They've been decent (with supply, not price) lately. I usually see almost everything except 9mm or .380

Last I was at walmart.. only handgun was .357s.

There is still a drought around here. I haven't come across any handgun ammo in the local Walmarts. The biggest gun shop has a whole floor devoted to ammo and they have almost nothing in that regard.

I has been really good here lately. We don't have 9mm yet,but i picked up 5 boxes of 40,3 boxes of 357 and 2 boxes of 550 count .22 at my local walmart. We have been getting better shipments in for about a month now.Heck we even got 10/100 count boxes of 380 but they were gone within a day.when i work i'm always over at the sporting goods counter and the only thing i see missing daily is 9mm.44 mag,.38,308,270,12 gauge slugs.Every thing else seems to come in or is there.

I havnt been by in a couple weeks. Think I'll check in fri morning.

Been over 8 weeks since my WalMart has had the Federal Value Pack .22. They sometimes have Remington 325 value packs but did not last Friday when I checked. No pistol ammo at all.

Our WM is about the same as all the others - little or nothing coming in. I have access to the delivery manifest and I know tomorrow they will receive a huge load of pistol ammo - one box of .38FMJ and one box of .44s. I guess calling it a huge load was a bit of an overstatement but when you consider what they got for the past week these two boxes represent twice as much - I got the last box, it was 100 round box of .45 FMJ.:)

I've been very fortunate in upstate SC. Yesterday I bought Blazer Brass .40 for $12.47 a box and Federal .22 value paks (550 rds) for $13.97 at Wal-mart in Anderson, SC. I usually find either 9mm, .40, .17HMR or.22 every time I go.

I stopped by the WM in Millington, TN this afternoon. Not much of anything in handgun, some rifle and fair selection of shotgun ammo. I left and stopped by Top Brass Indoor Range on Navy Road in Millington. Good selection of handgun ammo, some rifle and some shotgun. I picked up 2 50 round boxes of Rem FMC 10mm 185 gr, last 2 boxes they had. They did have 10mm carry ammo behind the counter. 2 boxes American Eagle 9mm FMJ 124 gr, they had at least 30 boxes left. 1 box of AE 380 FMJ 95 gr, last box they had. And 1 550 round box of Fed 22LR. They did have 38, 357, 40, 44 and 45 FMJ in fair/good supply, mostly AE. All of the above that I bought ran me about $150.00 including my range time and targets. I DID police the 100 10mm and 100 9mm brass that I brought with me. I guess I will have to start reloading again, that is if I can find any primers. Oh, I almost forgot, WM limit of 2 boxes per customer per purchase, if they have any to sell. Top Brass, limit of 6 boxes new ammo, don't know about the limit on reloads, or if there is a limit.

Our local WM has a limit of 6 boxes per customer. They had 12 boxes of 9mm that a guy and his girlfriend bought up. I thought that was a little piggish. My guess is he intends to resell it. No biggie for me since I was there for revolver ammo.

Still, I like the two box limit better. Seems like it gives more folks than just "a guy and his girlfriend" a chance to score a few.
