Dear S&W forum, I have an ammunition question is it suitable to shoot federal american eagle 130 grain full metal jacket .38 special ammunition in a classic S&W model 36 .38 special revolver & a S&W model 60-15 .357 magnum revolver with a 3 inch barrel?

I'm not talking about a little bit of shooting either I plan to shoot both of then guns to with an inch of their lives.

So that if and when the time comes and i need to use either of these revolvers to defend myself or my family against an attacker i will be able to do it without hesitation and without panicing.

Sincerely and respectfully mg357 a proud member of the S&W forum.

That ammo should be fine in either but for self defense, unless prohibited by law, you should be using hollow point or some other type of expanding bullets.

I agree with the above! The ammo is quite safe but just about useless for serious work.

I like ammo that handles (recoil) and hits (power) about the same when I practice for self defense
