I was at Cabela's in Allen, Texas last night - they had shelf after shelf of ammunition in a host of calibers. I didn't check out which they had and which they did not because it was late and I was with a friend picking up 1000 rounds of FNH 5.7x28 ammunition which came in a 1000 round dry storage box. All I can tell you I am glad I wasn't shopping.......

ROW AFTER ROW, Y'ALL!!!! If there was something they did NOT have I would be surprised.

Ummm.... the centerfire ammo shortage has been over for quite awhile now...

...did they have any .22LR? Thunderduds don't count... ;)

22 cal. rimfire is hit or miss, mostly miss at Cabelas, Dicks and Academy sports...But at the three mentioned, no 357 SIG at all...
:(

I've been looking for CCI Mini Mags forever. Nope, not around here...

The local Walmart has Federal 12 Ga Dove and Game loads 1 1/8 oz #71/2 or 8 shot for sale at $4.97 per box. It costs me around $6.75 per box to reload it. I have bought 10 cases of it so far. I just returned from shooting 100 rounds of sporting clays with it and it shoots great.

I don't remember when I last observed .22 magnum ammo for sale. Long rifle supply is erratic at best. You have to really look for it and over a period of time.

On the plus side, I enjoy my new found interests in black powder arms, slingshots and throwing sticks. The supply of rocks and sticks remains undiluted.

There's so much centerfire ammo at the new Cabela's here I'm surprised the Earth hasn't tilted off axis. Academy, Sportsmans, Gander... all stacked high. Unlimited quantities of .22LR CCI SV at Palmetto online.

Primers are back. Pistol powders and bullets aren't yet back to normal.

Ordered up dies, bullets, etc. yesterday to start reloading .44 Magnum. By sheer chance last night a surfed by Powder Valley & BEHOLD! H110 powder! For the most part unobtanium since forever... Limit was 10 x 1# so that's what I ordered... ;)

I was just in Cabela's in KC last week, and what 22RF they had was limited to 2 boxes per person, and the selection was real skimpy. In my home LGS, there was none on the shelf at all. All other calibers have been fine for quite a long time.

Everything has been available in Houston, sometimes at a steep premium, I stockpiled, I am shooting 9mm that I bought at $3,99 for 50 rounds, about $10 for 45 ACP, ,22 at $13 for 500. Unfortunately, I got into 38 special and 357 much later.

A new Sportsman's Warehouse opened here in April. They had two pallets of 22 LR. None since. It has been scarcer than Sasquatch. The question I keep asking is how can you hoard something that the retailers are not receiving at least in any quantity? How often do the gun and sports stores like Cabellas have it on line? I'm talking about the run of the mill LR not the exotic brands. Something isn't right.

I was about to stock up on some expensive online .22 ammo, when my son found another box in the basement with ten 500 rd bricks of Winchester Power Point 40 gr hollow points. I bought this stuff like ten years ago and forgot I even had it.

Local Big Boxes haven't had .22 LR in stock since BHO's first inauguration.

Lots of centerfire ammo here as well. 22LR is more spotty though it does show up sometimes at the various box stores.

The only thing I can't seem to find at my WalMart lately, is .22WMR and ZQI 5.56 (lots of 7.62 though).
GM's had PRETTY good prices (for GM)on .22, but mostly 50 round boxes limits how many boxes one can buy.

22lr in bulk boxes or bricks around here - not since January 2013 have I seen it on the shelves. Hear stories far and wide during Black Friday sales, but I haven't seen em. All I see is Ely, Thunderbolts, Aguilla, and Armscor 50 round boxes at our Rural King for $6.00/50 rd box.
9mm and 12 gauge haven't been a problem for me to find at all.
Of course I don't go to our Academy, Dicks, Gander Mountain, or Dunhams to get ammo.
I bought ammo at Walmart and Rural King before the shortage in Dec 2012 - present, and I've stuck with them.
Yep, I remember the ammo snobs back then - now I see those same ammo snobs standing in line at Walmart for that cheap ammo.

22 ammo remains scarce around here although most all the other
calibers seem to be available in some brand or another. I went to an
auction last night at a gallery that has an auction every Saturday
night. I went because there were several guns and a small quantity
of 22s and shotgun shells included. One 500 rd brick of Winchester
Wildcat and one 550 rd bulk pack of Rem HPs sold for $65 each. They
made the 1400 rd bucket of Rem HPs at $125 look like a bargain.
