I like to introduce my newest purchase. After an odysee that leads me through a good part of Switzerland in the last three month of serious searching, i've found yesterday a Model 39-2.
I could'nt have a close look at it, before i bought the gun, but i sat close enough to "feel" that the gun is in good shape.

Later at home i found out, that the gun was only testfired. I decided to clean and oil the gun and run it through a functionaltest. I packed some Swiss-Army-ammo in my gun-case and went to the range. The S&W semi-autos are not known as accuracy-wonders, so i don't expected to much, when i rack the slide the first time. Here are the pics.

Let's do it like the Swiss do.

It's never easy with a new gun. In my case is it much more difficult to get the feel for a semi-auto.

But things goes better and better.

...and some fun, but not very fast. This gun makes me to shoot lower and lower, when i try speed-shooting. Practice, practice practice.

I tried to make some very good 25-meter-groups. But i shot always a 7 or 8 and ruined the group.

(The hits outside of the black part were made by the fast-shooting-tests.

Swissman you are one lucky gun buyer. I saw your earlier post and I wasn't sure if you were going to shoot the 39. Now you are hooked for sure. That is one nice Smith&Wesson. Congratulations on your gun buy. Bruce

Great find of a great pistol. Looks to be 1975-1976 vintage.

Regards,
mlfox

Good looking pistol and a great find. Good luck with it.

Sweet M39 you got Swissman. Saw your other post and was waiting for this one.
Can I move to Switzerland with all my guns?!? Next four years don't look good for us!

I also found a NOS only test fired, owned by a banker that left it in his gun safe. I sent it to Actions by T Sugerland Tx. Teddy jeweled the action as he did his magic cut dbl action in half, single to 4lbs crowned barrel. It shoots like a gem. Almost as good as a 3913 action job pistol that I just sold for 1200 AT A GUN SHOP I almost dropped. Both are, where great shooters. The 39-2 is almost to nice to carry...Will post picture when my granddaughter will take pictures and enter on my old PC. I'm not to good with computer..
