I would love to see S&W produce a L frame revolver in .40 S&W and the barrel be 3 inches, with fixed sights, and a dove tail night sight on the front. I would also be in favor of a SS cylinder in place of the titanium one they used in the past. At our department .40 cal ammo is easy to come by and is relatively easy to find at wal-mart, bass pro...etc. I realize a 3 inch 610 was made and you can fire .40 in that but an L frame would be an easier size to carry on a daily basis.

And just to save other members the hassle of having to post these additions: Yes, I would want no lock, no MIM parts, HMFP......ha

RE: ease of carry

An L frame is no easier to carry than an N frame when it comes to the real world. Especially if you are a LEO and can use a good waist holster. The only real difference is weight. Which, again, if you have a proper holster and belt you will hardly notice the difference.
