The song “And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon...” pretty much describes where we all ended up in life. Our boys, well educated and prosperous, married well and are livin the dream.

They live out of state now and we have a difficult time getting together. We are all very blessed but it can get lonely now that I’m retired and actually have some free time for the first time in my life. Just like the song.

One of my grand girls, she’s nine, sent me the card below for Father’s Day.

She said “Happy Father’s Day POPS. I love you to the moon and back a 10020 times.”

I can’t put in words what that means to me.

There is absolutely nothing on this earth like being loved and being part of a family.

I hear ya, Ross. Three successful, happy, and very busy adult boys here, and yes, that song rings true.

And I spend my days at my own speed now, with the love of my life. My oldest presented me with my first grandchild a bit over a year ago.

“There is absolutely nothing on this earth like being loved and being part of a family.”

Amen to that.

Life is very good, and I am grateful.:)
