Be advised that there are 2 versions of Animal House movie if you have young children/grand kids that might watch it with you.. one has female nudity from the waist up.. & the other has the women in under garments.

On both versions we have... both are rated R.. but one is recorded on 1 channel on dish is the nudie & the other is recorded on a different channel for the cleaner version.

It is one of our favorite movies...

One thing that struck me when I first saw it on DVD (never saw it in a theater) was the actor who played Dean Wormer.

Before this movie I was familiar with John Vernon playing movie
bad guys/tough guys/not so funny politicians as in Point Blank, Charlie Varick, Dirty Harry, The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Always liked him.

Back in the day...... watching the movie...........Faber College...... and Grove City College had a lot in common..................

we had more fun breaking the rules..... 71-75....... than most did at Colleges that were eliminating their "rules"................................

One Monday morning got called into the Dean of Men's office..... ( I somehow got elected as VP Men's Governing Board/ Great job.... title w/ no responsibilities unless the Pres. died!!!!!) and was informed that Campus security had counted 102 violations of women visitations in my Dorm on Saturday night.......I sat a moment..... mostly thinking about where I was on Saturday night....... before blurting out ..." But there are only 96 guys living in my Dorm!" Always wondered about those 6 extra women!!!!!!

About a year later; on an early spring evening "we" decided to have an good old fashion "Panty Raid" on the Dorm where a few of our Girlfriends lived........With my handy dandy pocket knife I popped the latch on a remote side door..... (been there before) and let about 80-100 guys into the main Girls Dorm.........

I followed the crowd in........ about 10-15 minutes later as we left through the Front door..... as the last guy out I walked straight into the Dean.........he looked at me .... and with a somewhat straight face I said.... "All Clear.... everyone's all out!"

He just looked at me and smiled...... and with a "Get the hell out of here!" I was gone!!!!!

Brother Bluto.....lololololololololololololololololol Such a great movie! Just proves the oscar voters don't know a great movie when they see it. The Deer hunter over Animal House? They should have given it the "Otis my man" award for best picture! :)

"the other version has the women in undergarments"? That would just destroy Director Landis' visionary cinematic and creative genius, imbued in this work of art, which is the Sorority pillow fight.

It was shot at the University of Oregon, where I went school. The ironic thing was that the Delta house was, in real life, a Christian co-op that was between the Beta Theta Pi and Sigma Nu fraternity houses.

I have laughed about as much as a......

A few other movies have made me laugh a lot. Animal House not only made me laugh from beginning to end but laugh HARD!!!!:)

To me it's the funniest movie ever made. 'Airplane' is probably next. But 'Blazing Saddles', 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail', 'Young Frankenstein',

"This is Spinal Tap' funniest moment: 'Stonehenge'. I was laughing so hard I cried.

The Coen Brothers put new meaning into 'dark comedy' with 'Fargo'. I laughed my head off throughout. "Raising Arizona", 'Oh Brother, Where Art Thou"and "The Big Lebowski" were a lot of laughs, too.

One that may be a little dated is an early effort by the Abrahams and Zucker crowd. "Kentucky Fried Movie". From "Cleopatra Schwartz" to "Fistful of Yen" to "Catholic High School Girls in Trouble" to "The Sex Record". Nothing but laughs on laughs.
