Greetings all.

I have an M&P Shield M2.0 with the integrated laser in front. I'm curious if anyone out there has one and has found an ankle holster that fits? Both Galco and DeSantis told me theirs won't work. I tried an Uncle Mike's size 12 but the laser is a bit too snug. I'm worried going up to the 16 will be too big.

I'm still waiting for a response back from Wilderness.

You are likely to have to go with a custom or at least semi custom maker. I used ankle carry off and on for years for limited purposes, but even for a BUG I did not like it. The best I found for my G26/33 was a holster that laced into my duty boots. By doing so, it reduced the pressure on my muscles.

I used an ankle holster for a few years back in the lat 1990's. One late afternoon as it was getting dark (in the Winter) I was exiting my car and stepped into an 8-10 pothole filled with water (it was raining hard at the time) - just didn't realize it was deep. Roscoe got soaking wet as did my foot, shoe and pants. That night I disassembled the M60 that was in the ankle rig, dried and cleaned it. I let the holster dry out and it survived but that was the last time I used it.

That was the last straw for me as I was never thrilled about ankle holsters in the first place. Slow to bring the gun into action, cumbersome especially when moving fast or driving and no matter how good a holster you buy it is never all that comfortable - at least it wasn't for me.

They are OK for a BUG or deep concealment when standing upright, but not much else IMHO. I still own a custom made Bruce Nelson ankle rig for a Chief's Spl. but have not used it in decades. IMHO the Nelson was the best of the lot as it was made to my spec's.

Just FYI...

Crossbreed makes their holster for your rig. Regular holster, not ankle.

A holster for the Shield with the intergraded laser is difficult to find.

Ankle Holsters are fast if you are sitting down. So when I had a suit and tie job and carrying a sidearm was grounds for immediate dismissal, an ankle rig it was. If you are standing, they are slow but it you are sitting in an office or fighting on the ground they have some merit. The Galco Ankle Glove is by far the most comfortable rig I have ever tried.

Wilderness never got back to me, so I took a chance on Uncle Mike’s #16. Ordered it from Amazon so I could return it if it didn’t work. So far it has worked perfectly fine for my needs. Thanks for all the suggestions.
