ANOTHER BEAR THREAD (PHOTOS)

I went to Alaska last week,








as I was getting photos of Eagles hunting Salmon I met this guy running at me full bore!



Don't ever think you are going to outrun a Black Bear, this guy was FAST.
When he saw me he broke left (my right) and I knew all was well for a minute until I saw why he was running like that. A bigger bader bear was right behind it!
Everything ended well and I got some great photos that I didn't expect.

The sight of the bear running at you is scary.

I'm not good at walking. I'm as fast as my walker with four wheels. If it's down hill I can put one knee on the seat. We have a 400lb Blackbear that visits every so often.

I watched a momma grizzly charge a bore trying to kill her cub. She covered 75-100 yards in heart beat. If you have a bear charge you at 50 yards your handgun would never clear leather before that bear was on you.

And here are a couple of bear pictures I took last week. They were nice bears and did what bears do most of the time...they headed out when they saw me.

Nice pictures show up here in the forum but a bear running at the photographer may be hard to top! I probably would have had to do some cleanup after that encounter!

Just wear Depends when you're in bear territory. Carry spares too.

I was waiting in the shop lounge while some work was being done on my truck the other day. A guy walked in wearing a tank top that said, "I support the right to arm bears." (I don't think the bear in the OP's photo needs them!) Since the guy was wearing a tank top I figured it went without saying that he also supported the right to bare arms.
