Just returned home from a 9 day 1,000 mile trip from Tucson to Quartzite {for the big RV show}, up to Laughlin, where we parked the RV for 5 days, with a side ride out to Oatman and then a two day bike ride up to Vegas for waaaay too much fun.
We met friends we had not seen in 10 years for two days of fun while at the Q. In Vegas we joined my brides sister and Bil along with my daughter to celebrate his birthday. Even managed to stop in and spend the night with friends in Mesa on the way home.
Had some wild weather when the wind kicked up and the temperature down while we were in Vegas. The ride back down to Laughlin was at 32 degrees which at 75 mph = 12 degrees of wind chill. Add to that the 35 - 45 mph northerlies {gusting to 50}, blowing up our butts.
Not too bad going south down 95 with the wind at our back but once we turned east for the last 20 miles up and over the pass and then back down and in to Laughlin it got pretty hairy. Managed to keep the Dyna Super Glide in the lane but it was a handful. Had to slow all the way down to 45 to maintain any semblance of control as the gusts of 50 blew through the passes.
The winds blew 35-45/50 for the next 54 hours nonstop. The Class C was rocking like we were driving a bad road the whole time we were hunkered down at Laughlin. All in all we had a blast and can't wait to head out again. The Kendon trailer allows me to bring the bike along with all of the creature comforts found in the motorhome {as I am too old and fat to sleep on the ground... anymore}.
