There seem to be a lot of Texans joining here. I'll add to those ranks. I once had a perfect 686 (don't remember dash number but probably late 80s) and it was the best gun I ever owned. Stupidly I sold it a few years back. Now I aim to build a collection. Started today with a well-worn model 66-1, and a less-used model 29-5. I have been fondling both extensively and will shoot them tomorrow. I feel very happy with these revolvers, admiring their mechanical craftsmanship.
Off to Bass Pro Shops for ammo, then home to clean/oil my new babies while Dirty Harry plays in the background.
