Redoing bathroom, in one bathroom residence. Lady ordered a
"Custom" vanity top from Lowes. Because it didn't come in as
promised, I had to make second trip to finish job. Put in 48"
vanity cabinet, new plumbing and drains. Unpacked the new
Custom, $474 vanity top, picked it up out of box and layed on
top of cabinet. It looked like it was smiling at me! The corners
were warped up over a inch on both ends. They are going to
replace it, another wait, another trip. To much of these rejects
of bathroom and kitchen articles are coming out of the big box
stores. I don't know if they are dealing in seconds, or there is
no quality control or inspections at manufactures. By the time
you figure, travel, lost time and aggravation, the price difference
at the Big Box stores is not worth it. Will be doing 3rd trip to
finish on a one day job.

The bow is to add 'pre-tension' so that the sink doesn't vibrate when the water is running. A few well placed screws and it will be right as rain ;)

I hope that you are billing for your time on this one.

They'll turn it upside down on the floor and heat gun it till it flattens, then sell it to someone else. ( and it'll warp on them, too.)

I just had the same problem with Lowes and their flooring contractor. Anytime you have more than three companies involved the chances of something going wrong greatly increases. And sometimes the problem is passed back and forth between them. Next time I will deal with a privately owned company even though I might pay more.

Aw-w-w, you guys don't be too hard on Lowe's. They're workin' hard to improve the customer experience.

Why, as part of the Lowe's Memorial Day Sales Event here in North Carolina, they're giving away free copperheads with any purchase over ten bucks!

Better hurry, though...supplies are limited!

It's that new design to make all the splashed water run back into the sink.
Be quiet about it. They messed up and gave you the updated custom model by mistake.
Or, its made that way to match their cabinetry and flooring?

Any and all trips to Lowes, Homers or the Hardware store ALWAYS require more than one trip! It is a Universal Phenomenon.:D

Just get some Liquid Nails and ask the Wife or Girl friend to sit on the edge for a while!! :D Well maybe not that part if you want to live.;)

As a custom builder we are always having customers wanting to buy plumbing etc from Lowe's or Home Depot when we permitted it we had nothing but problems. A home currently under construction wanted to buy $23,000.00 worth of kitchen cabinets from Lowe's they wouldn't even come out and measure unless they had install contract, on top of providing material! Had another customer want to get his front door from big box told him he knows his allowance they can supply it, install, and finish it I will give him credit.

I am changing my contracts to not allow buyers supplied labor or material, you get what you pay for and I am tired of straightening out problems I have not caused.

Using cheapo suppliers.......

I'll bet a lot of quality stuff you used to get at Lowe's/HD is being made now by cheaper supplies with less integrity and reputation. And the store count the bucks rolling in until it gets to be a big problem for them. Either they fix it or go out of business and most companies nowadays cut to the bone, watch it fall and jump off in their golden parachutes right before it hits the ground.

Oh! I'll bet that what they DO have is a factory in China.

Jim, you are SO bad. Just one little snake bite, in the garden department, and you'll never let them live it down:D.
