I had my left shoulder replaced just over a week ago. It now matches the right side done in 2019. Reverse shoulder replacement where they flip the ball and socket around . The deltoid muscle is use to replace all the rotator cuff muscles/tendons. So I am officially in rehab which is very straight forward and done mostly at home.
Amazing medicine today: I went into the shoulder clinic at 5:15AM and was discharged the same day 5 hours later! No overnight stays with this surgeon unless absolutely necessary. (Infection risks not insurance) He has done 4 shoulder surgeries including the 2 replacements for me.
I'm out of the shooting lineup for a few months but will be back at in about 3-4 months. I can still shoot my large caliber handguns with these prosthetics. I have been shooting .44 magnums, .460 magnums and SW500 magnums on my right shoulder with no issues since 2019.
I also had a hip replaced in 2007 at age 50.(Severe arthritis) That went so well I don't even think about it ever. So I am now a 3 joint member! I am also an advocate for replacing joints instead of living with pain and limited motion.

Hey, that sounds great! I had a knee replaced about three years ago, and expect to do the other later this year. Joint replacement really does make a world of difference for the better.

So far the knees have been fine. It's just my upper body ( shoulder) that went south. I believe some is hereditary as mom and her brothers all ended up with shoulder problems. My mom had hers replaced in the early 1980s. Her results were not stellar.but... These kinds of surgery have improved 10x plus since then.

Having had a multitude of removals, repairs, alterations, and replacements, I don't have many of my original parts left. I've decided, come heaven or high water, to just make do with what I still have of my original parts.
