Less then a week ago, I picked up a new Ruger Security 9 (5-12-19). I had been wanting one of the new Ruger American pistols, but no LGS had any.
Went to the Cabela's in Noblesville, IN this evening and they had one in the Gun Library priced @ $419.99. I asked for a lower price and he came back @ $389, so I bought it!
Even though it's a new pistol, it had been sent back to Ruger for a recall issue, then returned to the store. Why it had to be sold as "used" I don't know (and don't care). The letter from Ruger stated they had changed the barrel. This was included with the gun. Only thing missing was the allen wrench to change the backstraps; I will send Ruger an e-mail requesting one and see what happens.
I've been very happy/pleased with the Security 9 and hope for the same with the new American 9mm. Will post after my first outing
