Hey Folks,
I was just given a S&W model 36 after getting my CCW permit and was wondering if there was a way to find out the year it was made by the serial number. I'd like to use +P for carrying only and was told it would be O.K. if it was made before 1985. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum from Va. POst the serial # in revolver section & we can give you a close date, X out the last 2 or 3 #s if you do not want to publish entire #.

Thanks for the quick replies. The serial # for the model 36 is:SJN 8954XX. Hope somebody knows and thanks.
